New Walk
Country Walking magazine has teamed up with official tourist board Visit Peak District and Derbyshire to unveil the 27-mile White to Dark Way – to be launched in the magazine’s 25th anniversary issue in May, just in time for the start of The Peak District Walking & Outdoor Festival 2012, which runs from April 22 to May 6. The White to Dark Way runs from Bakewell to Hope and can be tackled in three sections: Bakewell to Litton, Litton to Hathersage and Hathersage to Hope

Ideas for walks, rambles, days out
There are some general links on the following page - not only for walking but places of interest, nature and some sport / pastimes, the aim of the site is to provide a reference point, to help you find information on and ideas for walks and rambles. We hope this is just as useful to the serious rambler of hill walker as it is for a family day out in the countryside.
Each of the regions then has a page for each of the Counties, on these pages we have tried to add a little more detail as to what is available at each site.
The info and Links
We have collected the info / links from as many authoritative sites as we could, including local authorities, government agencies, charitable organisations, official national bodies, official tourist information organisations and reputable walking sites.
Region pages
On the regional pages you will find links to useful websites - we have tried to make these links direct to walking info, unfortunately pages change without our knowledge and so there may be some broken links. We do try to sweep through on a regular basis to pick them up and get them fixed but if you find one just drop us a line and let us know.
